My ancestor Ezra Meeker's historic retracing of the Oregon Trail route is being celebrated this year. It's been 100 years since he set out from his home, the Meeker Mansion in Puyallup, Washington, and traversed the continent in covered wagon to mark and preserve the trail before major parts of it vanished.
